Abstract Objective: To analyze the effect of adjuvant fluvoxamine maleate therapy and its effect on serum monoamine neurotransmitters in functional gastrointestinal disease patients with depression.Methods: A total of 86 patients with functional gastrointestinal disease with depression who met the inclusion criteria in our department from January 2020 to January 2022 were selected as the research objects and divided into groups by lottery. 43 cases in the control group were treated with domperidone, and 43 cases in the observation group were treated with domperidone combined with fluvoxamine maleate. The clinical efficacy, symptom score, adverse mood, serum serotonin neurotransmitter and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups. Results: The total effective rate was compared between the two groups (P>0.05). The scores of constipation, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting and belching were compared between the two groups (P>0.05). The scores of Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) and self-rat ing Depression Scale (SDS) in the observation group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The levels of norepinephrine (NE) and 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) in observation group were higher than those in control group (P<0.05). The incidence of adverse reactions was compared between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion: Domperidone combined with fluvoxamine maleate can effectively improve the depression state and monoamine neurotransmitter level in functional gastrointestinal patients with depression, reduce clinical symptoms , play a therapeutic effect, and has high safety.
