The treatment of insomnia disorder has aroused widespread concern in the society. Physical therapy of insomnia has been paid more attention in recent years due to more adverse reactions of drug therapy. Among them, repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation is widely used in clinical practice because of its advantages of noninvasive and small side effects, but its therapeutic mechanism has not been clarified yet. Therefore, this article will discuss the neural mechanism of repeated transcranial magnetic stimulation in the treatment of insomnia disorder from the aspects of neurophysiology, neurobiochemistry, nerve regeneration and neuroimaging. To provide a reference for the realization of the individual treatment of insomnia disorders.
