[Abstract] Objective: To observe the effect of psychological nursing intervention on the quality of life and psychological status of patients in intensive care unit (ICU). Methods: 86 ICU patients with severe illness admitted from July 2019 to July 2021 were randomly divided into the observation group (43 cases were included, and psychological nursing intervention was added to the control group), the control group (43 cases were included, and routine nursing intervention was provided), the inter group health survey brief (SF-36), the psychological status [self rating Depression Scale (SDS), self rating Anxiety Scale (SAS)], the acute physiology and chronic health score II (APACHE II), and Cd-risc, Pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI). Results: Before intervention, there was no significant difference in SF-36, SDS, SAS, APACHE II, cd-risc and PSQI among the groups (P>0.05); After the intervention, SF-36 and cd-risc scores were higher in the observation group, and SDS, SAS, APACHE II and PSQI scores were lower in the observation group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Psychological nursing intervention for ICU patients with severe illness can improve their negative emotion and psychological elasticity, reduce sleep disorders, improve quality of life, and promote the prognosis of the disease, which is worth popularizing.
