[Abstract] Objective To explore the status quo of psychological stress in depression and its relationship with personality characteristics. Methods A total of 100 patients with depression from April 2020 to April 2022 were selected as the study subjects. Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) was used to divide the patients into mild, moderate and severe depression groups. The stress index scoring scales in each group were compared. They were set as the mild, moderate and severe pressure group according to the pressure index. The each group eisenke personality questionnaire chinese version (EPQ-RSC) were compared. The correlation of pressure scales were analyzed. Results The pressure index of severe depression group was significantly higher than that of moderate depression group and mild depression group, and that of moderate depression group was significantly higher than that of mild depression group (P<0.05). The internal and external scores of EPQ-RSC in severe stress group were significantly lower than those in moderate pressure group and mild pressure group, and those in moderate pressure group were significantly lower than those in mild pressure group. The scores of concealment, neuroticism and psychoticism in severe stress group were significantly higher than those in moderate pressure group and mild pressure group, and those in moderate pressure group were significantly higher than those in mild pressure group (P<0.05). HAMD score was positively correlated with stress index, while stress index was positively correlated with masked, neurotic and psychotic scores, and negatively correlated with introversion and extroversion scores (P<0.05). Conclusion Depression has a high level of psychological pressure, and the degree of depression is positively related to the level of psychological pressure. Psychological pressure has a significant correlation with personality characteristics.
