[Abstract]Objective: To explore the effect of low dose sertraline hydrochloride in the prophylactic treatment of ischemic stroke patients with depression and its effect on cognitive function and serum neurotransmitter.Methods: A total of 109 patients with ischemic stroke depression in our hospital from July 2020 to December 2021 were selected as research objects, and were divided into traditional group and combined group by random number table method. Fifty-four patients in the traditional group received conventional treatment, and 55 patients in the combined group received low dose sertraline hydrochloride on the basis of conventional treatment. The depression, cognitive function, serum neurotransmitter and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Results: After 4 weeks of treatment, the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD), Zung Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS), National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) scores and serum OFQ levels in the combined group were lower than those in the traditional group. MMSE score and serum 5-hydroxytryptamine (5-HT) level were higher than those in the traditional group (P<0.05). By Fishers exact probability test, there was no difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the combined group (5.45%) and the traditional group (1.85%) (P>0.05).Conclusion: Low dose sertraline hydrochloride can improve cognitive function, regulate depressive mood and improve serum neurotransmitter in patients with ischemic stroke depression, with high safety.
