[Abstract] Objective To investigate the anxiety and depression of mothers of premature infants in neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and its influencing factors. Methods A total of 104 mothers of NICU premature infants from February 2020 to February 2022 were selected as research subjects, and anxiety and depression assessments were conducted once a week after delivery. The age, gestational week and other data between the two groups were compared. The influencing factors of anxiety and depression were analyzed. Results NICU mothers of premature infants with anxiety and depression in 40 of 104 cases. There were significant differences between the anxiety and depression group and the control group in lactation, uncertainty of disease, separation time of mother and infant, gestational weeks, complications of premature infants, sleep disorders, monthly family income, and education level (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in delivery mode, age and delivery times between the two groups (P>0.05). Multivariate analysis showed that non lactation, high uncertainty of disease, separation of mother and infant>2 weeks, complications of premature infants, and sleep disorder were the influencing factors of anxiety and depression. Conclusion The incidence of anxiety and depression in mothers of NICU premature infants is relatively high, which is related to factors such as lactation, uncertainty of disease. Therefore, we should strengthen the prevention and intervention of anxiety and depression.
