Objective To investigate the current status of cognitive impairment in in elderly schizophrenia, analyze its influencing factors, and provide basis for the rehabilitation of cognitive impairment in patients. Methods 82 schizophrenic patients in remission were selected and assessed with the general information questionnaire, Positive and Negative Symptom Scale（PANSS）and Montreal Cognitive Assessment Scale (MoCA). The subjects were divided into cognitive impairment group and non-cognitive impairment group according to the MoCA score. Single factor analysis and Logistic regression analysis were used to analyze the influencing factors of patients cognitive impairment. Results There are statistical differences in course of disease, glycated hemoglobin level，beta2-microglobulin level，homocysteine level and general psychopathology score (P<0.05). Regression analysis showed that long course of disease, high homocysteine level and high general psychopathology score were risk factors for cognitive impairment (P<0.05). Conclusion Cognitive impairment in elderly schizophrenia is related to many factors. The longer the course of disease, the higher the level of homocysteine and the more obvious the general psychopathology symptoms, the higher the degree of cognitive impairment.
