Objective To explore the detection rate of non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) in children and adolescents with depression disorder and its related influencing factors. Methods Children and adolescents hospitalized in Fuyang Third Peoples Hospital conforming to the International Classification of Diseases, tenth edition (ICD-10) criteria for depressive disorder were selected. General demographic and clinical data were collected. Correlation analysis and regression analysis were used to analyze the independent influencing factors of depressive disorder patients with NSSI. Results The detection rate of NSSI in depressive disorder patients was 35.2% (266/756). NSSI behavior was positively correlated with gender, total course of disease, body mass index (BMI), BMI grading and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels, and negatively correlated with age, age of onset and age of first hospitalization (P<0.05). Regression analysis indicated that females (OR=2.02, P<0.001), obesity (OR=1.87, P=0.014) were risk factors for NSSI in children with depressive disorder, and the older age of onset (OR=0.81, P<0.001) was a protective factor for the occurrence of NSSI. Conclusion The detection rate of NSSI in children and adolescents with depressive disorder is higher, and is related to gender, body mass index level and age of onset.
