Objective: To analyze the application effect of artificial hip replacement surgery in the treatment of elderly hip fractures. Method: A study was conducted on 72 elderly patients with hip fractures in our hospital from November 2020 to November 2022. They were randomly divided into a control group of 36 patients who underwent closed reduction and internal fixation surgery, and an observation group of 36 patients who underwent artificial hip replacement surgery. The clinical efficacy of the two groups was compared. The treatment response rate, Harris score excellent rate, intraoperative bleeding volume, surgical time, perioperative blood transfusion rate, and hospitalization time of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group. The postoperative weight bearing time and the incidence of short-term/long-term complications were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: The treatment effect of artificial hip replacement surgery for elderly patients with hip fractures is better, which can shorten postoperative weight-bearing walking and hospitalization time, prevent complications, promote hip joint function recovery, and has promotional value.
