Objective To analyze the application value of the four in one short distance communication mode supported by WeChat platform in the continuous care of rectal cancer patients undergoing postoperative enterostomy. Methods 72 rectal cancer patients who underwent surgical treatment in our hospital from January 2022 to December 2022 were selected as the study subjects. They were randomly divided into a control group and a study group, with 36 patients in each group. The control group received routine continuous care, and the study group added a four in one short distance communication mode supported by WeChat platform, Compare the incidence of enterostomy complications and the self-care ability assessment scale (ESCA) scores before and after nursing between two groups of patients. Results The incidence of periostal fecal dermatitis, periostal hernia, ostal skin mucosal separation, and ostal stenosis in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05); Before nursing, there was no significant difference in the self-care ability scores between the two groups of patients (P>0.05). After nursing, the study group had higher scores of health knowledge mastery, self-management concepts, self-care skills, and self-care responsibility than the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion The application of the four in one short distance communication model supported by WeChat platform in the continuous care of rectal cancer patients undergoing colostomy after surgery can help enhance their self-care ability after discharge, reduce the incidence of complications of colostomy, and is worth promoting and applying.
