【Abstract】 Objective: This study was designed to investigate and compare the clinical efficacy and safety of olanzapine and risperidone in the treatment of psychiatric disorders in the elderly. Methods: From June 2013 to June 2015, 80 elderly patients with psychiatric disorders were randomly divided into olanzapine group and risperidone group, 40 cases in each group. Nitrogen and risperidone (PANSS), Adverse Reaction Scale (TESS), and Quality of Life Questionnaire (GQOLI) were used to evaluate the efficacy, adverse reactions and quality of life of the patients. Results: Compared with before treatment, the physical, physical, psychological, social function and total scores of the two groups were significantly increased after 6 months of treatment (P <0.05). After 6 months of treatment, the physical, physical, psychological, social function and total score of olanzapine group were significantly higher than those of risperidone group (P <0.05). Nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache, tachycardia, liver function and TESS were significantly lower in risperidone group than in risperidone group There was statistical significance (P <0.05). Conclusion: Compared with risperidone, olanzapine has better clinical effect and safety in the treatment of senile mental disorders. It is worthy to be popularized in clinical practice.
