[Abstract] Objective To study the relationship between angiotensin and aldosterone levels and depression in patients with hypertension. Methods A total of 125 patients with hypertension from January 2019 to January 2020 in our hospital were selected as the research object, and self-rating depression scale (SDS) was used to investigate combined depression. They were set as the depressive group and the non-depressive group. 50 age-matched people with physical examination at the same time were selected as the control group. The SDS scales of the three groups were compared and serum aldosterone (ALD) and angiotensin (Ang-Ⅰ, Ang-Ⅱ) levels were detected. The correlations between aldosterone and angiotensin levels and depression in hypertensive patients were analyzed. Results 125 patients with hypertension combined with depression in 32 cases, the incidence rate was 25.60%; and serum ALD, Ang-Ⅰ, Ang-Ⅱ levels and SDS scores of depression group were significantly higher than those of non-depression group and control group, serum ALD, Ang of non-depression group -Ⅰ, Ang-Ⅱ levels and SDS scores were significantly higher than the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P <0.05); and serum ALD, Ang-Ⅰ, Ang-Ⅱ levels were positively correlated with SDS scores (P <0.05 ). Conclusion Serum ALD, Ang-Ⅰ, Ang-Ⅱ levels are positively correlated with depression in hypertensive patients, and their increase may be involved in the occurrence and development of depression in hypertensive patients.
