【Abstract】Objective To observe the effect of escitalopram oxalate combined with atorvastatin calcium on blood lipids, serum related factors and depressive symptoms in elderly patients with coronary heart disease complicated with depression. Methods 125 elderly patients with coronary heart disease (CHD) and depression admitted to our department from July 2018 to October 2020 were recruited as the research objects. 62 cases in the control group were treated with atorvastatin calcium and psychological counseling, while 63 cases in the observation group were treated with escitalopram oxalate. Blood lipid levels, serum related factor expression levels and depression status were compared between the two groups. Results Before and after treatment, there were no differences in the expression levels of high density lipoprotein (HDL), low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL), total cholesterol (TC) and triglyceride (TG) between the two groups (P>0.05). Before and after treatment, there were no differences in the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), interleukin (IL), oxidative stress indexes malondialdehyde (MDA) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) between the two groups (P>0.05). After treatment, the self-rating Depression scale (SDS) and geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Escitalopram oxalate combined with atorvastatin calcium can effectively reduce the blood lipid level, improve the expression level of serum related factors in elderly patients with coronary heart disease, and alleviate the depression of patients, which is worthy of clinical application.
