Objective: To explore the effect of early enteral nutrition and total parenteral nutrition for severe ICU patients. Methods: 58 severe ICU patients received from September 2020 to October 2021 were selected for study, 29 patients with early enteral nutrition were included in the observation group, and the patients receiving parenteral nutrition (29 patients) were included in the control group, and the nutritional status changes and clinical indicators of the two groups were analyzed. Result: After the treatment, The TP, PA, and Hb of the observation group were (70.02 ± 6.21) g / L, (38.99 ± 2.81) mg/L, and (129.34 ± 8.78) g / L, respectively, Higher than the (57.15 ± 5.67) g / L, (30.38 ± 2.49) mg/L, and (105.25 ± 8.15) g / L of the control group; The mechanical ventilation and the ICU stay time of the observation group were (9.89 ± 1.62) d and (15.89 ± 2.24) d, respectively, Less short than the (15.49 ± 2.34) d and (20.25 ± 3.16) d of the control group, The MNA score is a (25.49 ± 2.18) score, Higher score than that of the control group (18.75 ± 2.02); All cases were P <0.05. Conclusion: Compared with parenteral nutrition, giving early enteral nutrition in severe ICU patients can effectively improve their nutritional status and shorten the time of mechanical ventilation and ICU admission.
