Objective With the continuous advancement of the aging process of society, the number of geriatric patients is increasing. However, due to the aging of patients and the decline of various aspects of the body, various risk accidents are very likely to occur in the nursing process. Therefore, this paper explores the risks and preventive measures in the nursing process of geriatric patients. Methods 350 elderly patients who were treated and nursed in the geriatric department of our hospital from January 2020 to September 2022 were selected as the research objects, and the occurrence of unsafe events in the nursing of the two groups of patients was compared. Results The incidence of unsafe events in the study group was 5.78%, significantly lower than that in the reference group (18.13%), P<0.05 indicating that there was a comparative significance. Conclusion the pathogenesis of geriatric patients is complex, the incidence of incidence rate is high, and there is particularity. By analyzing the risk factors in nursing management of geriatric patients, formulating and strictly implementing safety precautions, the occurrence of nursing risks can be effectively reduced.
