Objective To investigate the clinical value of high-purity fish oil combined with selenium in the treatment of alopecia patients. Methods A total of 80 alopecia patients admitted to our hospital from January 2024 to June 2025 were enrolled and divided into a control group and an observation group of 40 cases each using random number table method. Both groups received selenium therapy or high-purity fish oil combined with selenium therapy, respectively, for continuous treatment over 6 months. Results After treatment, the observation group showed higher hair density in the alopecic areas compared to the control group, lower scalp sebum secretion rates, and lower severity scores of alopecia (P<0.05). The observation group also exhibited lower levels of TNF-α and IL-6 compared to the control group (P<0.05). The overall efficacy rate in the observation group (92.50%) was significantly higher than that in the control group (75.00%) (P<0.05). No statistically significant difference was observed in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups (P>0.05). Conclusion Treatment with high-purity fish oil combined with selenium in alopecia patients can significantly improve alopecia-related indicators and serum inflammatory factor levels, enhance clinical efficacy, and demonstrate good safety profiles.
