[Abstract] Objective To investigate the influences of empathy care in negative feelings, treatment compliance and rehabilitation of elderly patients with cerebral infarction. Methods 80 cases of elderly patients with cerebral infarction in our hospital from April 2014 to April 2016 were randomly selected, these patients were divided into two groups according to the methods of care, namely, empathy care group (n = 40) and usual care group(n = 40), the negative emotions, treatment compliance and rehabilitation of the two groups were statistically analyzed. Results The SAS score and SDS score of the empathy care group were significantly lower (P <0.05), the treatment compliance 72.5% (29/40) was significantly higher than the usual care group 52.5% (21/40) (P <0.05), the FMA score, Fugl-Meyer score, STEF score were significantly higher than the usual care group (P <0.05). Conclusion Empathy care can effectively improve negative feelings, treatment compliance and rehabilitation of elderly patients with cerebral infarction, so is worthy of promotion in the clinical.
