【Abstract】Objective: To study the clinical applications and effects of interpersonal psychotherapy for depressive episodes in bipolar disorder. Methods: A total of 150 cases were selected from May 2013 to May 2015 in our hospital with the treatment of bipolar disorder, which randomly divided into two group, the interpersonal psychological treatment + based drug treatment group (group A) and based drug treatment group (group B). HAMD-17 score, and YMRS and WHOQOL_BREF score were compared between the two group of patients before treatment and 8 weeks after treatment to analyze the clinical effects of interpersonal psychotherapy. Results: the two group of average course of disease and education degree had no statistics difference (P>0.05). The two group patients had no statistics difference in HAMD-17 score before treatment (P>0.05), while the group A of HAMD-17 score was significantly less than group B (P<0.05). The two group patients of YMRS score before and after treatment for 8 weeks had no statistics difference (P>0.05). the WHOQOL_BREF score of group A was significantly higher than that of group B, which had Statistically difference (P<0.05). Conclusion: Interpersonal psychotherapy for depressive episodes in patients with bipolar disorder can help alleviate symptoms of depression, and significantly improve the patients quality of life.
