【Abstract】 Objective To analyze the relationship between psychological stress, subjective Symptom Severity, and negative emotions in patients with Chronic Rhinosinusitis (CRS).Methods A total of 100 CRS patients treated in our hospital from March 2021 to March 2025 were observed. Based on the Perceived Stress Scale-10 (PSS-10), patients were divided into a CRS group (n=55, PSS-10 score <20) and a CRS with Psychological Stress group (n=45, PSS-10 score ≥20).The symptom severity scores and negative emotions of the two groups were compared, and the relationship between psychological stress and subjective symptom severity and negative emotions of CRS patients was analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient.Results The CRS with Psychological Stress group exhibited significantly higher scores for overall discomfort, nasal obstruction, rhinorrhea, nasal itching, headache, hyposmia, sneezing, and the total Visual Analogue Scale (VAS) score compared to the CRS group (P < 0.05). Furthermore, the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) and Self-Rating Depression Scale (SDS) scores were significantly higher in the CRS with Psychological Stress group than in the CRS group (P < 0.05).Correlation analysis showed that the scores of VAS, SAS and SDS were positively correlated with PSS-10 (P < 0.05).Conclusion The level of psychological stress in CRS patients is positively correlated with the severity of subjective symptoms and the presence of negative emotions.
