【Abstract】Objective Analysis of risk factors for depression in elderly patients with sarcopenia.Method A retrospective analysis was conducted on the clinical data of 90 elderly patients with sarcopenia who were treated in our hospital from January 2022 to January 2025. According to the assessment results of the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI), they were divided into the depression group (n=36) and the non-depression group (n=54). The baseline data of the two groups (gender, age, place of residence, living conditions, regular exercise, frequency of weekly activities, combined chronic diseases and pain conditions) were compared. Univariate analysis and multivariate Logistic regression analysis were used to analyze the influencing factors of depression in elderly patients with sarcopenia.Result The proportions of those living in rural areas, living alone, not exercising regularly, having no more than 3 activity times per week, and having pain > 3 points in the depression group were higher than those in the non-depression group (P < 0.05). Multivariate Logistic regression analysis confirmed that living in rural areas, living alone, not engaging in regular exercise, the frequency of activity ≤3 times per week, and pain > 3 points were the influencing factors of depression in elderly patients with sarcopenia, all with P < 0.05.Conclusion Rural residence, living alone, no regular exercise, no more than 3 activities per week, and pain > 3 points are the influencing factors of depression in elderly patients with sarcopenia. During clinical diagnosis and treatment, high-risk patients can be further screened in combination with the above factors, and targeted treatment plans can be formulated.
