| Abstract |
Objective To explore the effects of family environment and neuroticism on anxiety in children and adolescents, with a view to providing ideas and methods for improving anxiety in children and adolescents. Methods 540 child and adolescent patients who visited Xiamen Xianyue Hospital from March 2020 to August 2023 were selected, and the child and adolescent patients were required to have completed the Screen for Child Anxiety Related Emotional Disorder, the Chinese version of the Family Environment Scale, and the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (Adolescent Version) at the same time in the Psychological Assessment Center of the hospital, and the test results were analyzed for data. Results 1. The recreational factor (F=5.06, P<0.05, R=0.10, ΔR2=0.01), the organizational factor (F=21.02, P<0.05, R=0.19, ΔR2=0.04), and the controlling factor (F=8.46, P<0.01, R=0.12, ΔR2=0.01) all negatively predicted children's anxiety, and neuroticism (F=370.38, P<0.05, R=0.64, ΔR2=0.41) positively predicted children's anxiety. 2. Neuroticism partially mediated the relationship between the organizational factor and children's anxiety, with a mediator effect size of 38.37%, and neuroticism partially mediated the relationship between the controlling factor and children's anxiety, with a mediator effect size of 43.12%. Conclusion High recreational, organizational and controlling family environment can reduce children and adolescents' anxiety level. Organizational family environment can affect children and adolescents' anxiety level through neuroticism, and controlling family environment can affect children and adolescents' anxiety level through neuroticism.
