By systematically organizing a large number of documents on Ryukyu-Chinese phonetic correspondences and Japanese-Chinese phonetic correspondences, this paper analyzes the current research results of Ryukyu-Chinese phonetic correspondence materials from two perspectives: philology and phonetics. In terms of philology, the core focus lies in two major directions: the textual research on document backgrounds and the sorting out of interpretation logic. In terms of phonetics, certain progress has been made in the analysis of phonetic features and the discussion on phonological properties. The research on phonetic features has formed a dual approach of scheme criticism and cross-document verification. The discussion on phonological properties is a core topic in the phonetic study of Ryukyu-Chinese correspondences, with the focus concentrated on phonological attribution and reconstruction methods. At present, the key factors restricting the development of Ryukyu-Chinese phonetic correspondence research include the lack of a unified standard for material classification, the frequent separation of phonetic analysis from the documentary context, and the failure to reach a consensus on the discussion of phonological properties. This paper intends to propose future research directions and suggestions: first, establishing a database of Ryukyu-Chinese phonetic correspondence documents; second, constructing a normalized interdisciplinary cooperation mechanism; third, exploring the empowerment path of modern information technology. It aims to provide references for the in-depth study of Ryukyu-Chinese phonetic correspondence materials.
