[Abstract] Objective: To explore the influence of nursing intervention based on comprehensive evaluation on elderly diabetic patients complicated with depression. Methods: 84 cases of elderly diabetic patients complicated with depression treated in our hospital from December 2014 to March 2016 were selected, and were divided into study group and control group randomly, 42 cases in each group. The control group were given routine nursing, and the study group were given nursing intervention based on comprehensive evaluation. Compliance, blood glucose index before and after nursing and improvement of depression were compared in the two groups. Results: Taking medication on time, exercise time, timely referral and healthy diet compliance in the study group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). There were no significant differences in levels of FBG, 2hPBG and HbAlc before nursing in the two groups (P > 0.05). After treatment, the blood glucose of each aspect decreased, which of the study group were lower than those of the control group (P < 0.05). There were no significant differences in scores of depression and anxiety between the two groups (P > 0.05 ), the scores after nursing decreased, which of the study group were lower than those of the control group, with statistically significant differences (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The effect is significant of nursing intervention on elderly diabetic patients complicated with depression, with high compliance. It can effectively improve the body related blood glucose levels and the degree of depression, and is worthy of clinical promotion.
