Objective Analysis of the Effects of Herbal Heat Application and Patch Therapy on Postoperative Analgesia and Gastrointestinal Function in General Gastrointestinal Surgery. Methods Data from 50 rectal cancer patients who underwent surgery and received routine care in our hospital from January 2023 to December 2023 were collected as the control group (n=50). Additionally, data from 50 patients of the same type who received herbal heat application and patch therapy in addition to routine care from January 2024 to December 2024 were collected as the observation group (n=50). Compare the nursing outcomes between the two groups. Results The postoperative recovery and quality of life in the observation group were significantly better than those in the control group. Additionally, the pain levels and incidence of complications in the observation group were significantly lower, with all differences being statistically significant (P < 0.05). Conclusion Implementing herbal heat application and patch therapy for patients after general gastrointestinal surgery can effectively alleviate postoperative pain, promote gastrointestinal function recovery, reduce complication risks, and improve patients' quality of life.
