Objective To analyze the nutritional status of elderly patients with depression and the correlation between life care intervention strategies and patient nutritional status. Methods A total of 90 elderly patients with depression in our hospital from February 2024 to May 2025 were selected as the subjects. The nutritional status of the patients was analyzed using the Mini Nutritional Assessment Scale (MNA), and the changes in nutritional status before and after life care interventions were compared. Results Based on the analysis, 36 patients in this group had nutritional risks, while 54 patients had normal nutritional levels. Combined with life care interventions for patients, their nutritional levels improved after nursing, compared to before nursing, P<0.05. Correlation analysis shows that the nutritional status of elderly patients with depression is positively correlated with life care interventions, R=0.883. Conclusion Elderly patients with depression have nutritional risks, and it is necessary to timely carry out various life care interventions based on the characteristics of the patients to improve their nutritional and health levels.
