Objective To analyze the effect of McKenzie therapy combined with trigger point acupuncture in the treatment of lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion. Methods The time range of this study was from May 2024 to May 2025. A total of 60 patients were included and evenly divided into a control group and an observation group, with 30 patients in each group. The control group received McKenki therapy, while the observation group was provided with auxiliary trigger point acupuncture on the basis of the control group. The pain degree, lumbar function, and lumbar range of motion of the two groups were compared and analyzed. Results After different treatment regimens were adopted for the two groups of patients, the pain degree of the patients in the observation group was milder, p<0.05. Comparing the lumbar function level of the patients, the observation group was better than the control group, p<0.05. Analyzing the lumbar range of motion of the two groups of patients, the observation group was better than the control group, p<0.05. Conclusion For patients with lumbar intervertebral disc protrusion, McKenzie therapy combined with trigger point acupuncture treatment is provided. This not only alleviates the pain of the patients but also enhances their lumbar function and improves their range of motion in the waist.
