This study explores the impact of humanistic care combined with palliative care on the psychological state and self-esteem of patients with advanced tumors, providing a basis for optimizing clinical care. A total of 300 patients with advanced tumors admitted to our hospital from January 2024 to January 2025 were selected and randomly divided into a control group (n=150) and an experimental group (n=150) using a random number table. The control group received conventional care, while the experimental group received humanistic care combined with palliative care for 3 months. Psychological status was assessed using the Symptom Checklist-90 (SCL-90), and self-esteem was evaluated using the Self-Esteem Scale (SES). The numerical rating scale (NRS) for cancer pain and nursing satisfaction were recorded and analyzed using SPSS 27.0 software. Before the intervention, there were no statistically significant differences in the SCL-90 subscale scores, SES scores, or NRS scores between the two groups (P>0.05). After the intervention, the core subscale scores of the SCL-90 in the experimental group were significantly lower than those in the control group (P<0.05), the SES scores were significantly higher, and the NRS scores were significantly lower, all of which were statistically significant (P<0.05). Additionally, the nursing satisfaction in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion: Humanistic care combined with palliative care can improve the psychological state, enhance self-esteem, alleviate pain, and increase satisfaction in patients with advanced tumors, making it worthy of clinical promotion.
