Objective To explore the role of precision nursing intervention in improving the blood sugar level and quality of life of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes. Methods 80 elderly patients with type 2 diabetes aged 55-95 years from May 2024 to May 2025 were randomly divided into the control group (40 cases) and the experimental group (40 cases). The control group received routine nursing care, while the experimental group received precision nursing interventions, including personalized blood glucose monitoring, precise diet and exercise planning, precise psychological and medication interventions, and precise prevention of complications. Compare the levels of fasting blood glucose (FPG), 2-hour postprandial blood glucose (2hPG), glycated hemoglobin (HbA1c), and quality of life scores between two groups of patients before and after intervention. Results After intervention, the FPG, 2hPG, and HbA1c levels in the experimental group were (6.5 ± 0.8) mmol/L, (8.9 ± 1.2) mmol/L, and (6.2 ± 0.6)%, respectively, which were lower than those in the control group (7.8 ± 1.1) mmol/L, (10.5 ± 1.5) mmol/L, and (7.3 ± 0.8)% (P<0.05); The quality of life score of the experimental group (85.2 ± 6.3) was higher than that of the control group (72.4 ± 5.8) (P<0.05). Conclusion Precision nursing intervention can effectively improve the blood sugar level of elderly patients with type 2 diabetes, and improve the quality of life, which is worthy of clinical promotion.
