[Abstract] Objective To investigate the effect of Morita psychotherapy combined with modified Tiaoshen Jieyu Decoction on the Hamilton Depression Scale (HAMD) score and quality of life in patients with depression after stroke. Methods From February 2015 to December 2016, 88 patients with depression after stroke in our hospital were selected and randomly divided into control group and observation group, each group 44 cases, the control group was treated with modified Tiaoshen Jieyu Decoction, and the observation group was given Morita psychotherapy on the basis of the control group. The therapeutic effect, HAMD score and quality of life scale (WHOQOL-BREF) score before and after treatment were observed and compared between the two groups. Results By rank and test, the observation group was better than the control group, and the total effective rate 95.45% (42/44) was higher than that of the control group (70.45%, 31/44), the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05); Before treatment, the scores of HAMD and WHOQOL-BREF were not statistically significant (P> 0.05), but after treatment, the HAMD score of the observation group was lower than that of the control group, WHOQOL-BREF score was higher than the control group, the difference was statistically significant (P <0.05). Conclusion Treatment of depression after stroke using Morita psychotherapy combined with modified Tiaoshen Jieyu Decoction gets a significant effect, which can effectively reduce the HAMD score and improve the quality of life.
