【Abstract】 Objective: To investigate the effect of psychological support therapy (PPST) on the compliance of enteral nutrition (EN) support, psychological status and immune function in patients with rectal cancer after radical resection. Methods: 82 patients with rectal cancer underwent radical resection were randomly divided into two groups: the control group (n=41) received routine nursing, the observation group (n=41) received PPST on the basis of control group. The compliance of EN,postoperative rehabilitation and complications were compared between the two groups, the scores of HAMA and HAMD were evaluated before and after intervention, the immune function indexes and nutritional index es were measured. Results: The compliance rate of EN was 95.12% in the research group, significantly higher than 75.61% in the control group (P<0.05);The HAMA and HAMD scores in the research group, were significantly lower than those of the control group (P<0.05),while the levels of NEU, NK, T lymphocyte subsets (CD4+, CD4+/CD8+), TP and ALB were significantly higher (P<0.05);The anal exhaust time, semi-liquid diet time in research group was significantly shorter than the control group, and the complication rate was significantly lower than that of the control group (4.88% vs 21.95%, P<0.05). Conclusion: PPST can improve the compliance of EN in patients with rectal cancer after radical resection ,which can improve the immune function and psychological status, reduce postoperative complications and promote postoperative rehabilitation.
