Objective To explore the effect of psychiatric rehabilitation on social function in the schizophrenia patients. Methods 240 patients with schizophrenia were randomly divided into two groups,study group of 120 cases,in addition to conventional antipsychotic treatment,according to the level of rehabilitation of patients receiving different content of psychiatric rehabilitation;control group of 120 cases, receiving conventional antipsychotic treatment.All patients were treated for 12 months and evaluated with Distress Scale(SAD), Morningside Rehabilitation Status Scale(MRSS), the MOS item short from health survey(SF-36) before,after and every quarter of the treatment. The results were analyzed statistically. Results （1）There were significant differences in the overall scores of SAD、MRSS and SF-36 between the two groups before and after treatment，the improvement of social function and rehabilitation state of the patients in the study group was obviously better than that of the control group（P＜0.01）；（2）The overall scores of SAD、 MRSS and SF-36 in the two groups before and after treatment showed that there was statistical difference in the study groups (P < 0.01), but there was no statistical difference in the control group (P > 0.05) Conclusion Psychiatric rehabilitation therapy has a good effect on the rehabilitation of social function of schizophrenia patients.
