Allostatic Load is a comprehensive index reflecting the accumulated wear and tear of various physiological systems of human body, and is closely related to many factors such as the Social Economic Status(SES), growth experience. Long-term allostatic load with high level can lead to the changes of body which could lead to diseases. This paper, in which the developmental track of allostatic load is reviewed, the relevance between allostatic load and various mental disorders such as Schizophrenia, Depression and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder is briefly described, and the developmental direction of allostatic load is pointed out, is aimed at providing theoretical basis for the application of allostatic load in the mental disorder.
