【Abstract】With resting-state functional magnetic resonance imaging (r-fMRI) gradually becoming an important clinical tool for studying the pathophysiological mechanism of mental illness, a new method for measuring the functional connection between hemispheres has recently emerged: voxel-mirrored homotopic connectivity. This article briefly introduces the background and principle of the method, focuses on reviewing and summarizing the research findings and shortcomings of the method in mental illness, and finally puts forward some suggestions for this method in future research.
