Objective To research the application value of Mindfulness-based stress re-duction (MBSR) in protecting medical staffs physical and mental health in Psychiatric Department and its impact on the working status of medical staff. Method First of all, select 100 medical staff served in Psychiatric Department of our hospital between January, 2015 and January, 2018 as the object of study, and divide them into two groups randomly by computer: group A and group B with 50 medical staff in each group. Secondly, medical staff in the group A are treated with Mindfulness-based stress re-duction (MBSR), while medical staff in the group B receive activities of regular basic knowledge learning. Finally, Chinese Perceived Stress Scale (CPSS) and Index of Well-being (IWB) are used to evaluate the physical and mental health of medical staff, and Maslach Burnout Index (MBI) and Fatigue Assessment Index (FAI) are used to evaluate the working status of medical staff. Result CPSS scores after intervention in both groups were lower than those before intervention (t=8.254, 8.758, P < 0.05). Meanwhile, the score of group A was significantly lower than that of group B (t=7.532, P < 0.05). The IWB scores of the two groups before and after the intervention were compared, and the study showed that there was no statistical difference between group A and group B before the intervention (t=1.211, P > 0.05). IWB score of the two groups after intervention was significantly higher than that before intervention (t=8.942, 7.351, P < 0.05). Meanwhile, the score of group A was higher than that of group B (t=7.867, P < 0.05). After intervention, the scores of emotional exhaustion and depersonalized dimensions in MBI scores of group A and group B were lower than those before intervention (t=8.651, 8.443, 7.362, 7.442, P < 0.05). Group A was lower than group B (t=6.841, 7.836, P < 0.05). The score of personal achievement dimension was higher than that before intervention (t=8.753, 7.484, P < 0.05). The individual achievement dimension score of group A after intervention was higher than that of group B (t=7.211, P < 0.05). The scores of medical staff in the two groups after intervention were lower than those before intervention (t=, 8.165, 7.752, P < 0.05). The post-intervention score of group A was lower than that of group B (t=7.323, P < 0.05). Conclusion Mindfulness-based stress re-duction (MBSR) has an important effect on protecting the mental and physical health of medical staff in Psychiatric Department, and it also has a significant effect on improving job burnout and job stress, so it is worth applying and promoting.
