Objective: To explore the effect of sand table therapy on the symptoms of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and the safety level of attachment between mother and child. Methods: 280 children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) received in our hospital from January 2016 to March 2019 were divided into two groups according to their parentswishes: 140 children in the study group (willing to participate in sand table therapy) and 140 children in the routine group (non-sand table therapy); 140 normal children were selected as the normal group. The curative effect was evaluated 24 weeks later. Results: The KSS score of the study group before treatment was lower than that of the normal group (p < 0.05); the KSS score of the study group after 24 weeks of treatment was higher than that before treatment, and higher than that of the conventional group (p < 0.05), but still lower than that of the normal group (p < 0.05). The score of SNAP-IV scale in the study group after treatment was significantly lower than that before treatment, and lower than that in the conventional group (p < 0.05). CONCLUSION: For children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, sand table therapy can not only significantly alleviate the symptoms of children with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, but also improve the bad attachment between mother and child. It deserves clinical attention.
