To investigate the difference between general anesthesia and lumbar and spinal anesthesia in the treatment of elderly patients with total knee arthroplasty in the treatment of postoperative mental state and deep vein thrombosis. Methods: The data of 50 patients with total knee arthroplasty were selected and treated in our hospital from June 2018 to June 2019. According to different anesthesia methods, the MMSE scores of the patients in the general anesthesia group (general anesthesia, n=25) and the lumbar anesthesia group (lumbar and hard anesthesia, n=25) before and after 1d, 2d, 3d And the BDNF and NGF levels were compared. The incidence of postoperative mental disorder and deep vein thrombosis were observed in the two groups. RESULTS: Compared with preoperative, the MMSE scores and BDNF and NGF levels were significantly improved in the two groups (P<0.05). Compared with the patients in the lumbar anesthesia group, the MMSE was 1d, 2d, and 3d after operation in the general anesthesia group. The scores of BDNF and NGF were significantly lower (P < 0.05). The incidence of insanity and deep vein thrombosis in the general anesthesia group was higher than that in the lumbar anesthesia group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: General anesthesia in the treatment of elderly lower extremity surgery can effectively improve the postoperative mental state and reduce the occurrence of deep vein thrombosis.
