Objective To investigate the clinical effects of quetiapine in patients with epilepsy and its effects on psychotic symptoms, and to analyze the safety of drugs. Methods A total of 95 patients who were treated with epilepsy mental disorder in our hospital from February 2016 to February 2019 were enrolled. The patients were divided into two groups by treatment. The control group (n=47) used the drug risperidone. For clinical treatment, the study group (n=48) was treated with quetiapine for clinical treatment. After the end of clinical treatment, the positive and negative symptom scale (PANSS), the concise psychosis scale, the personal and social function scale were used to evaluate the patients psychiatric symptoms and social function, and the adverse effects were evaluated. Results After treatment, the PANSS score, the simple psychiatric scale score and the incidence of adverse reactions in the study group were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). The total effective rate and individual and social function scale scores of the study group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). P < 0.05). Conclusion Quetiapine can effectively improve the psychiatric symptoms of patients with epilepsy and mental disorders, and can gradually restore symptoms to individuals and social functions, with fewer adverse reactions and more effective results.
