Objective: To analyze the clinical effect of cognitive behavioral therapy on type 2 diabetes mellitus patients with depression and anxiety. Methods: 80 patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus complicated with depression and anxiety were selected as the study subjects, all of them were admitted to our hospital from July 2018 to July 2019. The depression and anxiety levels of the control group (routine drug therapy, n = 40) and the experimental group (routine drug therapy + cognitive behavioral therapy, n = 40) before and after intervention were compared, and the SAS, SDS scores, FPG, PG2h and other blood sugar indicators of the patients were tested and compared. Results: Before intervention, there were no significant differences in depression and anxiety level, fasting blood glucose, 2-hour postprandial blood glucose and glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1C) between the two groups (P > 0.05); after intervention, SAS, SDS scores and FPG, PG2h, HbA1C indexes of the experimental group were significantly improved compared with those before intervention, and the blood glucose levels of the experimental group were depressed. The score of positive coping style in the experimental group was significantly higher than that in the control group (P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Cognitive behavioral therapy can improve the depression and anxiety of type 2 diabetic patients, and can effectively control the blood sugar level of diabetic patients.
