Objective: To analyze the mental health education strategies of relatives of schizophrenics. Methods: A total of 100 cases of relatives of schizophrenics from October 2016 to October 2019 were randomly selected. SCL-90 was used to assess the mental health status of relatives of schizophrenics. The SCL-90 scores of relatives of schizophrenics and national norm, male and female, completed and incomplete nine-year compulsory education, primary and secondary relatives were statistically analyzed. Results: The scores of anxiety, depression, paranoia, somatization and total score of SCL-90 of relatives of patients were significantly higher than the national norm (P < 0.05). The hostility score and total SCL-90 score of male relatives were significantly higher than female relatives (P < 0.05). The scores of anxiety, depression, somatization and total score of SCL-90 of relatives who completed the nine-year compulsory education were significantly higher than relatives who did not complete the nine-year compulsory education (P < 0.05), the score of terror was significantly lower than relatives who did not complete the nine-year compulsory education (P < 0.05). The scores of anxiety, depression, phobia, obsessive-compulsive symptoms, psychosis and SCL-90 of the first-degree relatives were significantly higher than the second-degree relatives (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The mental health status of relatives of schizophrenics is poor, and gender, education level and relationship with patients are the influencing factors. Therefore, we should actively take targeted health education strategies to improve the mental health status of relatives of schizophrenics.
