Objective To investigate the factors affecting sleep disorders in intensive care unit (ICU) patients. Methods A total of 320 ICU patients in our hospital from February 2018 to February 2019 were selected as the study subjects. Sleep quality were surveyed using pittsburgh sleep quality index (PSQI), and divided into the sleep disordered and the non-sleep disordered groups. The clinical characteristics of pain and anxiety (SAS) scores and types of diseases in the two groups of patients were investigated. Univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression analysis were used to investigate the related factors of sleep disorders in ICU patients. Results Among the 320 ICU patients, 122 had sleep disturbances; the degree of pain, SAS score, combined with acute stress disorder (ASD), night treatment, mechanical ventilation, and age were statistically significant in the sleep disturbance group and the non-sleep disorder group (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in gender and disease type between the two groups (P>0.05). Logistic regression analysis showed that severe pain, SAS score> 50, combined with ASD, and night treatment were related factors for sleep disorders in ICU patients. Conclusion ICU patients have poor sleep quality and are prone to sleep disturbances, which are affected by pain, anxiety, combined ASD, and night treatment.
