Objective To explore and analyze the nursing experience of PICC catheter-related skin allergic reaction in a patient with gestational trophoblastic neoplasia (GTN) during the peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) indwelling period. Methods A retrospective analysis was conducted on the nursing process of a GTN patient who developed a skin allergic reaction during PICC indwelling. Additionally, 20 similar patients in the same hospital were selected and divided into a control group (receiving routine care) and an observation group (receiving targeted comprehensive care). Data related to nursing outcomes were compared between the two groups. Results After nursing intervention, the observation group showed a shorter time to improvement of allergy symptoms than the control group, a longer catheter indwelling time than the control group, and a higher satisfaction rate than the control group. The differences were statistically significant (p < 0.05). Conclusion Implementing targeted nursing interventions for PICC catheter-related skin allergic reactions in GTN patients can effectively alleviate symptoms, prolong catheter indwelling time, and enhance nursing satisfaction.
