Objective To analyze the effect of health care on elderly patients with diabetes mellitus complicated with hypertension. Methods 42 elderly patients with diabetes mellitus combined with hypertension admitted to our hospital from January 2024 to June 2024 were divided into observation group and control group according to the time of admission. The control group was given routine nursing measures in our hospital, and the observation group was given health care based on the control group. The fasting blood glucose (FPG), random blood glucose (GLU), systolic blood pressure (SP) and diastolic blood pressure (DP) indexes of the two groups were compared after nursing intervention. Results After treatment and nursing intervention in our hospital, blood glucose, blood pressure and blood lipid indexes in both groups remained within the normal range, but blood glucose and blood pressure in the observation group were lower than those in the control group. Conclusion Health care has a more positive significance for the indicators of elderly patients with diabetes mellitus combined with hypertension, which can control the indicators of patients in a more reasonable range, effectively improve the success rate of treatment of patients and prevent the occurrence of complications.
