Objective To study the effect of hot application in pain relief and sleep improvement in patients after vitrectomy. Methods Using the convenience sampling method, 120 patients undergoing retinal detachment treatment and concurrent vitrectomy in the ophthalmology department of our hospital from July 2023 to February 2025 were selected as the study subjects. Among them, 60 patients from July 2023 to July 2024 served as control group and received routine care intervention; 60 patients from August 2024 to February 2025 served as observation group to increase the treatment. The degree of postoperative pain, sleep quality, complication rate, and quality of life were assessed and compared between the two groups. Results Patients in the observation group were significantly lower than the control group in terms of postoperative pain, sleep quality was significantly better than that of the control group, the incidence of postoperative complications was significantly lower than that of the control group, and the quality of life score and patient satisfaction with care were significantly higher than that of the control group (P <0.05). Conclusion in vitrectomy postoperative patients to face the lower position during the nursing process, combined with ai salt package acupoint hot compress intervention, can effectively improve the quality of clinical nursing services, significantly reduce the postoperative pain, enhance the patients physical and mental comfort, improve the patients sleep quality, reduce the incidence of complications, and improve the patients quality of life.
