Objective To investigate the impact of factors such as intravenous infusion tension and pricking pain on blood pressure fluctuations in elderly hypertensive patients before and after general injection therapy (such as colds, inflammation treatment, etc.). Methods A total of 100 elderly hypertensive patients were selected from January 2024 to December 2024, randomly divided into a control group and an experimental group, with 50 cases in each group. The control group received only routine hypertension medication, while the experimental group also underwent general injection therapy without the aim of lowering blood pressure (such as injections for colds, inflammation, etc.). The blood pressure fluctuations and related discomfort reactions before and after injection therapy were observed in both groups. Results After injection therapy, the experimental group experienced a significant transient increase in blood pressure, with a higher incidence of related discomfort reactions compared to the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Factors such as tension and pricking pain during general injection therapy can easily cause transient increases in blood pressure in elderly hypertensive patients, increasing the risk of discomfort reactions. Clinicians should pay attention to this and take appropriate measures.
