Since the beginning of the 21st century, the translation and publication of contemporary Chinese narrative literature in Spain have significantly increased, becoming a vital force in promoting the internationalization of Chinese literature. This article, grounded in a comprehensive survey and analysis of data, delves into the development, current characteristics, and key trends within this field from 1989 to 2023, through multiple dimensions including an overview of publishers and bibliographies, translation dynamics, genre classifications, and translators backgrounds. The research reveals that factors such as market demand, cultural compatibility, and translator preferences play crucial roles in the selection of works for translation and publication. By integrating the analysis of these factors, the paper not only uncovers the evolving reception of Chinese literary works in the Spanish market and the underlying reasons but also puts forward specific recommendations on how Chinese literature can more effectively reach a global audience. These suggestions encompass optimizing content selection mechanisms and enhancing cultural exchange and cooperation, with the aim of promoting the spread and acceptance of Chinese literature worldwide, thereby elevating its international influence. Through the implementation of the aforementioned measures, it is hoped to provide theoretical support and practical guidance for the better integration of Chinese literature into the global cultural landscape.
