In 2006, Huayin Laoqiang was selected as one of the first national intangible cultural heritage list, which is a precious folk art treasure in China. In 2015, Chinese singer Tan Weiwei innovatively integrated Laoqiang into pop music on the music variety show “China Star”. The collision of tradition and modernity produced a brand-new chemical reaction, which elevated the audience’s attention to the regional folk music in Shaanxi. In recent years, Laoqiang has been glowing with a new era of charm through cross-border integration and innovation in artistic expression. Promoting the integrated development of culture and tourism is a major strategic plan made by the Party Central Committee. Shaping tourism with culture and nourishing culture with tourism, the interactive development of culture and tourism is a necessary initiative to realize the high-quality development of tourism and cultivate the new quality productivity of tourism in the new era. By tracing the ancient history of Laoqiang, analyzing the bottleneck of Laoqiang’s inheritance, exploring the status quo of the development of culture and tourism integration, and proposing the innovative development strategy of Laoqiang, we can provide certain references to help Huayin Laoqiang to solve the development problems in the new era. It is found that the Huayin Laoqiang has unique performance forms and cross-border development ability, and the cooperation with music variety shows has increased its popularity, which can provide development power and rich resources for the tourism industry, and promote the transformation and upgrading of two industries, namely, culture and tourism.
