In recent years, the network micro short play with its subtle art design has developed rapidly, and the romance theme has always maintained a high flow and heat in the micro short play circuit. From the perspective of semiotics, combining with the frame theory, this paper discusses the artistic design elements in the narrative structure, theme character shaping and plot interpretation of the network romance mini-drama. The study found that by breaking the traditional framework, the network romance miniseries created characters with a sense of contrast and ideal, and adopted a highly condensed and direct narrative strategy, which quickly attracted the audiences attention and satisfied their immediate emotional needs. At the same time, the narrative space design of the short play shows fluidity and openness, providing a changeable environment for the complexity of the plot and characters.
