This study focuses on the field of positive psychology, taking the elderly group in Dezhou as the object, and deeply analyzes the mechanism of family communication on the sense of meaning in life of the elderly. The study shows that there is a significant correlation between family communication, loneliness, aging attitude and sense of meaning in life. Specifically, family communication has a significant positive promoting effect on the sense of meaning in life. Among them, loneliness plays a mediating role between family communication and the sense of meaning in life, and aging attitude also plays a mediating role, affecting the relationship between family communication and the sense of meaning in life. In addition, urban and rural factors have a moderating effect on the relationship between family communication and loneliness. This study helps to further understand the importance of family communication at the psychological level of the elderly, and provides a theoretical basis and practical guidance for improving the sense of meaning in life of the elderly.
