Abstract
The essays of Bertrand Russell are imbued with profound western philosophical ideas and cultural elements. Translators should deeply comprehend the philosophical concepts embedded in Russell’s essays while considering the cultural context of the target language, ensuring that the translation faithfully conveys the original spirit while arousing target readers’ interests. During the translation process, attention should be paid to expressions containing philosophical reflections, avoiding direct translation of western-specific philosophical concepts into the target language that might lead to misinterpretation. Simultaneously, translators should address the interpretations of cultural symbols, ensuring the corresponding significance within the target culture to preserve the original cultural essence. Only through such approaches can translations achieve effective cross-cultural communication while maintaining fidelity to the original work. Research indicates that translators can facilitate intercultural dialogue through compensation strategies in translation, cultural adaptability, and contextual reconstruction. Furthermore, by optimizing translation strategies, translators can effectively enhance the influence of Russell’s works, thereby promoting mutual understanding and respect among different cultures.
