| Abstract |
Cultural education has always been a requirement for ideological and political education in colleges and universities. Especially with the highly developed network era nowadays, how to cultivate the values and cultural shaping of college students has become a very important topic. Cultural education cannot be separated from the inheritance, development and innovation of traditional moral concepts. Looking at the traditional moral concepts of both China and the West, in China, Mencius, a thinker in the Pre-Qin period, is the most typical example. He advocated ways such as benevolence and loving others, and reflecting on oneself to cultivate ones mind and character. In the West, the pursuit of the highest "goodness" by the ancient Greek thinker Aristotle is the most typical. Looking at the ideological viewpoints of the moral concepts in both China and the West, although they have completely different theoretical systems, they both advocate the moral concept of "goodness" and emphasize the importance of acquired practice. Sorting out and comparing the moral education concepts of the two is of great value in helping college students establish a correct cultural outlook.
